This deviates a little bit from my usual post, but it really hits all my little heartstings. This is my little cousin, LilyGrace. She is 18 years old (I know, I'm in trouble) and about to graduate high school. This photography session was born from a dream I've been having over and over again, of this red flash swirling through the air. Like a dancer, or a shadow, or a whisper in the wind; just a red whip of smoke through the air. I kept having this feeling like " Man, I need to figure out what this is all about!" and "Seriously, why am I having these dreams?!?" Well, friends, that led to an idea. Red for me is bold. It's courageous, it's tempting, and inspiring, and empowering. It's something that blossoms, and creates, and self values. Red, for me, is strength. And then? Red became a dress, and an the idea became a photograph. It baffles me to think that this beautiful, classy, strong young woman in front of me was the same one year old baby I welcomed to the United States when she was adopted. This INDIVIDUAL in front of me has blossomed into a courageous, inspiring woman who is going boldly after her dreams. She is empowered, and she is incredible. Treasure your little ones. PHOTOGRAPH them. Before you know it, they do that terrible, horrible, and incredible thing called growing up. They blossom in front of you. They change. They evolve into these beautiful creatures that are greater than even you had dreamed. Just like that, they aren't the same baby you held for the first time 17 years ago. Red, for me, is beautiful.

THIS CHILD. Oh, my heavens. This baby. I LOVE her! This is little Braelyn Olivia, who just turned 8 months old. She is a giggling, smiling, happy little chunk that was just happy as a clam to explore the studio at her session. I mean, come on ! This muffin has my heart. Gerber baby 2017, yes? I think so! Little bub's mum loved this image, and I couldn't agree more. She just looks like a sweet little doll. How amazing this little one? Between her sweet baby blues and scrumptious chubby wrist rolls, I know her family loves her to pieces! And, me too!
Kindly turns one!
Oops- get ready for all the feels. World, meet this sweet mama and daughter. This beautiful mama came to me at first all the way back in November to talk about portraits. We instantly clicked- I could tell she had a vision that aligned with mine almost immediately. Elegant, classic, she said, but not too much- ethereal, and calming, and something that accentuated the bond she had with her sweet baby. I know, I was already swooning. This mama, though I am positive she wouldn't admit it, is one of the strongest young women I have had the honor of photographing. Her sweet little came into the world with the most glorious tools and chunk I have ever seen! We spend the afternoon in the studio capturing all of the details she wanted so desperately to preserve while here wee one was so small. With the simplicity and elegance that she had spoken of, I knew she needed to be in one of the Sew Trendy Gowns, and her skin tones immediately demanded an Ivy & Nell matching mama and me floral crown set. The contrast of the simply white gone and passionate colors in the florals were nothing short of incredible. I was SO excited that mama chose to preserve these memories in a Keepsake Book- gorgeous lush matte pages bound in a sandy linen cover, now each and every precious image has a place to live! Hannah is now reserving newborn session by due dates into June, with only a few spaces open for the month of May. If you or someone you know is interested in a newborn, maternity, or family session please do not wait to reach out to her!
